It consists of 3 phases
Controlled Ovarian Stimulation
It consists of administering drugs to stimulate the maturation of one or two eggs. Close monitoring with ultrasound is performed to control its growth. When the time is right, sperm capacitation is performed to optimize fertilization.
Sperm capacitation
It is the preparation of semen to select the best spermatozoa, those that move well and have a normal shape, thus improving the chances of fertilization.
Insemination
This is the final step of the treatment, where the prepared specimen is placed inside the uterus. The procedure is performed with the aid of abdominal ultrasound to ensure correct placement of the cannula. It is quick and painless.
