It is a variant technique of In Vitro Fertilization that consists of the introduction of a single sperm into an egg and that comes to solve cases of male infertility.

Its main indication is the decrease of spermatozooid even in case of total absence since in these cases spermatozoa can be obtained by epididymal aspiration or testicular biopsy.
